The Ramones
The Ramones are considered by many to be the founding fathers of punk rock. With their blistering tempos and stripped-down musical skills, the Ramones inspired generations of youths to pick up instruments and start bands of their own. The band's streetwise fashion of leather jackets, T-shirts, ripped jeans, and sneakers were accessible to the masses, and eventually their look became something of a punk-rock uniform. Readers will learn about The Ramones and their founding band members as well as other band members. Readers will learn about their punk rock legacy.

Rebels of Rock series. These "unauthorized rockographies" are good starting points for rock-and-roll researchers (though they should take the super-stoked narration with a grain of salt). Each volume provides detailed descriptions of the title band's members, history, and career highs and lows. Clean design, including. many photographs, make the information easy to follow; photo captions tend to repeat rather than extend the texts. Discographies are included.
