Mark Martin
Mark Martin drives # 01 for Ginn Racing on the NASCAR circuit while also driving part time in the Busch and Craftsman Truck series. Nicknamed "Mr. Consistency" by fans due to his uncanny knack for finishing in the Top 10 in races, he also qualified for the "Chase for the Cup" for all three years of its existence. Heroes of Racing series. Published spring 2008. This series profiles contemporary race car drivers, focusing mainly on their careers. Each first chapter describes a career high point, then subsequent chapters sketch out childhood and the ups and downs of the subject's racing development. Though the information is superficial, there's enough detail to hook racing fans. Photographs, sidebars, and statistical charts enhance the texts. Reading list, websites.
