Hillary Clinton
Hillary Rodham Clinton served as First Lady of the United States between 1993 and 2001 before moving to New York where she was elected a state senator in 2000, becoming the first Lady elected to public office. She was re-elected in 2006 and is a strong contender to represent the Democratic party in the 2008 election for President. If she wins, she would be the very first woman President in U. S. history.

People to Know Today series. Opening with a highlight or turning point in the subjects' lives, these generally laudatory biographies provide adequate (though generic) introductions to well-known personalities. Some of the accompanying photographs and sidebars are interesting, but others do little to enhance or elevate the texts. Hillary Clinton frequently shifts its focus to Bill.
