In 2004, Bill Gates became the richest man in the world, at the same time, the worlds largest private giver. This biography details how Gates got started and what he did to get where he is today. Both his computer developments and his philanthropic initiatives in worldwide healthcare are detailed. The book also provides an excellent and concise history of the development of the computer. It stresses that Gates made the most of both his technology expertise and his business savvy. He started his first business when he was in eighth grade. Then, when Microsoft created its software for the IBM PC, Gates set the deal so that Microsoft would earn a royalty on every copy of the software sold.
